What does this car say about you?

I am a motorsport and modification enthusiast but needed a sensible car for commuting.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My friends loved it, my neighbours hated it ... but again that was more my doing.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I only bought the diesel because of the fuel economy for work, if that wasnt an issue I would maybe buy an st instead because theres a bit more tuning potential.

What are you likely to buy next?

I bought a vw golf gt tdi, but even with the bigger engine and turbo this is a much heavier car and doesn't handle quite as well, the fiesta was also much quicker off the line (although I haven't had the golf remapped like the fiesta was).

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, at the time it only had 23k on the clock and was about £1000 cheaper than anywhere else, travelled from South Wales to Liverpool to get it.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted something sporty but economical.

What was the dealer like?

Very good but are still sending me promotional offers and service reminders 3 years on.

What's it like to drive?

Beautiful, The 1.6 turbo has good pull in all gears, I used it mainly for motorway cruising where it would rev slighlty high and was a bit noisy, I also had a custom exhaust put on it and had it remapped after which point it was a flying machine and could easily put an st to shame with the ridiculous amount of torque in a small car, the suspension is quite stiff and unforgiving if you hit a bump but it stuck to the road like glue in the corners with very minimal if any body roll.

What's it like to park?

Very easy, small car with good visibility, although I had dark tinted windows so night time parking was a challenge.

Have you had any problems with the car?

The battery needed replacing but this is to be expected as it was 5 years old by then.

What's most practical about your car?

It is small and easy to park but still has enough room for 4 adults or even 5 if the rear passengers observe good personal hygiene.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I had the facelift model which has an aux in for the factory stereo.
