What does this car say about you?

You want a sensible hot hatch.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I have suffered a few 'chav' remarks, but generally the mean-ish front styling and rear spoiler were well received.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, but I am older, fatter and more sensible now.

I bought an Octavia VRS.

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think I got a good deal, used quotes obtained via various internet sites and went around the dealers to see which one could get closest.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Economical with hot hatch looks

What was the dealer like?

Initially rude. I was refused a test drive and spoken to inappropriately by a salesman at Gowrings in Basingstoke. The second salesman was however excellent and therefore got my custom.

What's it like to drive?

Fun. It corners excellently, I wish I owned this when I started driving as it would have prevented an incident involving a tree. The acceleration is ok, with the torque useful when overtaking. It is not very comfortable on a long drive though.

What's it like to park?

Easy.

Have you had any problems with the car?

In nearly three years of ownership very little went wrong. The sump started to leak after a few thousand miles and there was a recall to replace engine mounts but other than that I was very happy.

What's most practical about your car?

It has a reasonable boot and good visibility. The car can accomodate four adults (just about).

Aux socket.
