Very easygoing when you're not in the mood to try. Fun round the corners when you are.
Performance
The 1.3 HCS engine that was so despised in the Escort makes easy going in this bodyshell.

Slate me if you will, but I think the shape is great. For a four-year old model it still looks chic!
Comfort
Zips along the motorway at 70 with no sweat. Rides the bumps better than a lot of family saloons I have owned. The only complaint is that it's a bit noisy at speed.

The supplying dealer (C D Bramall) was a pleasure to deal with. An engine flair problem that developed two days after collection was cured very quickly and professionally.

Engine flair problem was cured by new throttle position sensor and spacer bracket on the air idle valve.
Other
Interior trim does scratch easily. I suppose it will be cheap to replace when it gets too bad.
