In their own words

Specifically bought petrol as doing short town runs most of the time but needed a big space to load family and dog into with rails for a roofbox. Just happened that the 2l E/B powershift was the model that came up locally. I've run it for 3.5 years and it's been great. Rock solid reliability throughout, pleasant turn of speed when you need or want it and equally poised in town, on motorway or sweeping through the hills. Family have always been comfortable as well. It still impresses me as well just how good looking the car is. The only real negatives I have for it are: 1) gearing isn't quite set for UK motorways. At 70 you're just nudging the turbo at 2000rpm so as soon as you look at the accelerator your mileage disappears. Stick to 55-60mph for best economy. 2) no free update to the satnav- it's eighty bucks from Ford (or cheaper for an older upgrade from eBay). Or just keep your eyes open on the road; 3) Key is dangerous! Buttons mounted flush to the car so too easy to accidentally sit on in your pocket. Then, next time you come out into the pouring rain, not only is the car open for you, the windows are all down too... 4) that age didn't come with standard rear sensors so mine had an aftermarket fitted which largely works well. But c'mon, Ford! I would happily recommend this car to anyone who still wants a petrol load-lugger instead of diesel - it hasn't missed a beat and has provided me with the engagement I like.
