Ford S-Max 2019 review

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

When we first took delivery of the car, we were a bit worried as to whether it would fit on our drive. It did but only just! It's quite long so beware. Driving the car is dead easy as everything falls to hand. All the usual knobs and switches can be accessed without thinking about where they are. The infotainment system is not as slow as some reviewers have said! The DAB radio works well but the only slow thing is the sat-nav. It'ss slow to respond meaning you could end up going round in circles! My wife hated using it. The fuel consumption is great for a 2 litre diesel. 46ish mpg. The rear seats can be lowered to make a huge boot, there's a useful row of switches at the rear which let you lower one seat at a time to make room for long objects. Very handy indeed. Overall we were very happy with the car and in a lot of ways sad to see it go but it was time for a change.

How reliable do you find the car?

The electronic display occasionally doesn't boot up leaving you with no speedo, rev counter or trip computer! You have to either carry on to your destination or sit and wait for about 5 to 10 minutes and try again. It will eventually boot up with all the dials showing. Ford should fix this software URGENTLY! Towards the end of our ownership, the electric handbrake started playing up, locking on, not going on or being informed by the info screen it was off but in reality it was on! Very frustrating.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Very versatile car. The high seating position is great for getting in and out of the car.
