  • Economy

    Costs

    1 out of 5 1.0

Thirsty beast: 8-10mpg in Town and 15-17mpg on the moterway (70mph). In the UK insurance is fully comp only and pricey.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Slides badly in the wet if fixed in std rear wheel drive. Keep it in 4-wheel drive permanently - the grip becomes excellent in the wet, mud and snow. Very comfy ride (not bouncy).

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Had 15 steel SCUBA tanks, 200kg lead weights, bags and 2 people on the running boards going up a 25% gradient on a coast road in Clovelly - never went above 3000 revs and accelerated effortlessly - it's powerful.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

Excellent. Never had a problem starting it in any conditions. AS a SCUBA instructor I regulalry filled it up with bottles, gear and weights - excellent car except its expense with its thirty petrol consumption.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

Conservative looks makes it in my opinion safe from theives - it's just not that flashy…

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Really comfy with the leather seats. Excellent stereo (rear speakers in the roof mean they don't get knocked about).

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Std immobiliser seemed quite good, although I would have preferred computer chipped keys... no compaints.

    Service

    5 out of 5 5.0

Exception and professional servicing (a little condescending becuase they don't expect Jeep owners to care about the details) - very 'expensive' for std servcies, but you are paying for the best trained mechanics.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    Sound and no issues.

    Other

Seriously need cup holders in the front! Sounds daft but would have been really useful on long motorway trips.

Did you buy the car new?

    Used

Would you buy the same model again?

    Yes

Did you buy from the same manufacturer again?
