  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Some friends have said to me that the 4 by 4 image suits me as i am an outdoors person - great to carry the golf clubs! and like the idea of a go anywhere sort of car - it won't stay clean for long!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    All like it

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes - love the style and the name and love 4 by 4's and Landrovers have great reputation for off roading which is something i fully intend to do

What are you likely to buy next?

I aim to keep my car for as long as possible and then see what else comes onto the market - the new Freelanders are growing on me slowly but prefer the style i have at the moment

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £12,900

When did you buy the car?

    October 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes - got a good price on my old car and had a few things thrown in like a years tax, full tank of fuel, car mats, new windscreen

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I always wanted a Freelander and now was just the right time

    What was the dealer like?

Great - used Hunters at Guildford

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

I tend to drive a few junctions on the motorway and then back along A and B roads to and from work and its great to drive on all these roads and love the feel and handling - get some cabin noise at 70 mph though not too bad and a few rattles but nothing distracting

    What's it like to park?

It is fine - you are aware that your slightly higher but once you get used to it it is fine

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No - hopefully it will stay that way - i was concerned about some of the reliability issues i had read about but then noticed it mainly applied to older models and some petrol models and looking at the number of these on the road thought it can't be too bad

What's most practical about your car?

The great visibility and being high up - the 3 doors have good headroom unlike the 5 door where you hit you head on the roof if your tall - Seats are nice and firm and comfortable and the Steering isn't heavy which is also good

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I think the bag in the boot is useful but would be good if they added a rear load cover as standard - the permanent 4 wheel drive is great
