Land Rover Range Rover Evoque SUV SE R-Dynamic D150 auto 5d Owner Review

Range Rover Evoque 2019

Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

The latest shape Evoque is a great looking car and in many ways an evolution of the first generation. We owned the previous generation for three yeaes and it was largely a reliable good car and felt like a mini range rover. It was let down by outdated tech, and some cheap plastics on places.

The new shape, is better looking, and has much better infotainment, with lots of touchscreens with apple car play and android auto. The models SE and above seem to offer the most premium feel and I'd say you need 20 inch wheels to make the car look it's best.

What let's down the new evoque is the build quality which seems to have gone downhill to accommodate the technology. Poor quality external trim panels which faded within 2 years, trim that came loose and needed to be replaced under warranty. Other issues include noisy air con unit, a panoramic roof blind that stopped working and a rattles from trim that came loose.

The quality of the seats and general interior options has been massively downgraded from the first generation which felt like a small range rover. It now feels more like a designer land rover with basic looking seats, limited colours and tacky Union jack patterns.

It's still the only car in its sector which gives the level of style and premium feel in a small SUV as most rivals are quite a bit bigger. It's just not as nice as the old car.

I'd buy one but I'd be worried if it didn't have a warranty.
