In their own words

What a superb little car! Owned my 2 for a little over 3 months now and love it. Likes: It's Great to drive! The 2 is sharp and responsive to any input, the 1.5l is from the MX5 and is a peach and imo perfect for the car. It's near silent and easy to use when commuting but when open it up the engine completely changes character, it's happy to rev and hold those revs and makes a really nice fuss about it too. The steering lacks a little feel but it's a surprisingly quick rack which suits the sporty nature of the car. It handles like a go kart too, loves going around corners. The interior, toys and refinement. Interior is a huge improvement over the previous 2, I find it gets close to the Germans for design and quality, in Sport Nav trim it matches my old mkii 3MPS for the level of kit and creature comforts it comes with. The 2 feels as refined as most C Segment cars and is as happy on the motorway as around town. Economy. The official figure is 56mpg and I easily match that on the regular motorway journeys i do, usually at a speedo 72-74 on cruise control! I can get 180-190 miles to half a tank of fuel that's mostly town driving with a fair bit of motorway too Dislikes: Road noise due to tyres, even though in some tests I have read they say it's wind around the A pillars I don't really notice it, what I do notice is the tyre roar from its Dunlop SP Sport 2030's. They have ok grip in wet and dry but the roar even on 40-50 limit roads is nothing short of annoying. Will be look to replace these pronto with either Toyo Proxys or Goodyear Eagles (much like on my last two Mazda's which came with Dunlops). Heated Windscreen, it's ok but not half as effective as what was on my previous Mazda's. Rear seats, when folded down they are not flat to the boot floor, given the awkward boot lip can make loading things a bit fiddly. I have an annoying rattle in the central passenger pillar but will be going back to Mazda to sort soon. Overall though I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a B Segment car that ticks all the boxes, that is at the sharper end of the class for performance and dynamics to put this in your top 3 choices.

How reliable do you find the car?

Had a recall a month after purchase for a replacement AC compressor and is going back to dealers for a rattle in the passenger pillar (suspect seatbelt holder is rattling)

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Feels almost as big as my previous mkii 3MPS yet still retains the B Segment speciality of being super agile and fun around bends.
