Other Mazda 6 (2007 - 2012) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

I hope it shows that even though it is sensible family transport, it doesn't have to be boring. It looks far move expensive than it actually is.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

The car is well loved by the family. The kids love the gadgets and the rear space. The wife is happy as the dog cage fits in the boot so Fido isn't bouncing around. Dad loves the fact that it will bimble around town, doing 25mpg but is capable of the occasional B road blast when the opportunity arises.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Without question. I have always been quite snobbish, tending to stick with the Teutonic manufacturers...except a very brief foray with a larger French estate.....that's a different story. However, having been convinced to have a look at one, I was completely overwhelmed.

What are you likely to buy next?

If the car remains as reliable as reports suggest it should, then it would be very difficult to argue the case for anything other than a Mazda6.

    January 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

With no part exchange and being a cash buyer a good deal was achieved.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    Space, equipment, styling, performance.

    What was the dealer like?

The dealer was very good to negotiate with and was honest about the vehicle.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

The car is very lively with a nod toward sporty handling with a stiffer set up. Despite this, it is composed over the most rutted of surfaces. The steering is direct and has good feel. I find tyre roar and wind noise a little higher than average on the motorway but it is still far more comfortable than my previous series BMW.

    What's it like to park?

It is surprising easy to park, considering it's size. The steering is light, thought the turning circle is quite large.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Nothing has gone wrong with the vehicle.

What's most practical about your car?

The interior space and the size of the boot. It is cavernous and well shaped. Very important for our growing family.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The keyless entry and start is pretty cool and the bluetooth system is the best I have encountered.
