Mazda MX-30 review (2024)

In their own words

I read a lot of bad reviews about the MX-30, mainly criticising the low range but consumers know this before they buy it, and the car is fairly cheap to start with so I reckon it’s pretty good value.

Batteries are good quality, prismatic cells made by panasonic - range (for me at least) slightly exceeds the 124 miles that the car is sold with and I’ve experienced no degradation (car two years old now).

Interior space is good for a small SUV, access to the back obviously compromised by gimmicky doors but the interior is well built and seats are comfortable.

Electric motor provides plenty of power, feeds it to the wheels smoothly so the car is very easy to drive, regen braking can be altered using paddles, conventional brakes not too grabby.

As a second car, or for those who drive short distances, I’d highly recommend.
