    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

The driving position is excellent. The ride quality is the best in any Mazda. Premacy does its job well, body roll is acceptable given height.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

1.8i engine is smooth and quiet unless pushed. 1.8GXi has 100bhp and needs a little more power. Very good low down pull.

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

First class: Premacy is Japanese and a Mazda, so it's no surprising ownership should be 100% trouble-free.

    Image

    3 out of 5 3.0

Premacy is modern and stylish. It can look a little bland, but it looks and feels a special car. Minor details make it complete. More image than a Renault Scenic and it's far more special.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Excellent - superb ergonomics, superb driving position and brilliant dashboard. Good seats, but they seem very slightly too small. Very quiet engine.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

It has everything so why shouldn't it get top marks? Standard alarm, immobiliser, remote locking, deadlocks, visible VIN, etched windows (and that's just on the base model!)

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Slightly above average service, but few car manufacturers cannot be faulted can they?
