In their own words

This car tries to place itself in the executive bracket but the only thing executive about it is the price. I made the mistake of not test driving the car before purchase. The auto box is absolutely not what I expected of a 2020 Mercedes. Comfort mode is too slow to react with the next mode up being sport is far too noisy and jerky. It get confused at junctions and roundabouts with significant delay on pickup at certain times. Having previously driven the benchmark BMW steptronic system this is nowhere near that level of refinement. Performance of the B200 variant is also nothing much to write home about especially with the horrible gearbox. The Sport specification is the entry level but at £28k is undoubtedly pricey. For that you get pretty basic looking 17in silver alloys wheels, nice led lights a digital dashboard which sounds better than it is, integrated sat nav which is poor in comparison to others, an electric tailgate which is good and fairly comfortable leather/textile mix seats. The steering lacks any real feel to it especially when you push it through a few bends. The suspension does feel quite soft so it does handle the rough roads quite well. Brakes seems ok. The car feels quite solid and safe although the interior has a cheap side to it and even although the car is only a couple of months old I can already hear parts of the dashboard creaking and cheap plastic in the rear seat area flexing when you negotiate some bends. In conclusion I would say that I expected much more from this and overall I am bordering on saying very disappointed but I’ll stick to disappointed. It lacks much more that it gives I’m afraid. 3 years 10 months to go!

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

I expected more for £28k. Digital dashboard and infotainment system is basic. The two digital screens are too small, can’t have rev counter and speedo on same display, one or the other. No seat heaters, no ambient lighting, no puddle lights, no folding mirrors. The list goes on. Electric tailgate is ok I suppose, led headlights are good but I’m feeling quite shortchanged overall.
