Other Mercedes-Benz C-Class (2007 - 2014) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

On face value it says sensible, likes quality in his life and gives a good impression for business purposes. For those in the know of what a C350 can do performance wise, it says still loving life and likes a thrill. I like that!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My friends think I am too young for a Mercedes until they get in it and I let the horsepower do the talking. My family love it. Both my two boys who are under 4yrs are always asking to make the car go 'zoom'. Which of course, as any good Dad would, I oblige! My wife loves driving it too as it is so smooth. My neighbour likes the car so much he went out and bought one as well (C250 sport though). What more endorsement do you need?

Would you buy this car again and why?

Over and over again. Its the perfect balance for me of sporty fun and sensible work car.

What are you likely to buy next?

Same model but maybe an estate? We have 2 boys and a recently acquired puppy that is going to grow into a big dog. The estate will be perfect for us all. Or I could go to the dark side and get a 4x4 or MPV... C350 estate it is!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £15,000

When did you buy the car?

    September 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

A very good price but negotiating was hard as there are very few around.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I needed a reliable, safe and comfortable car for doing lots of business motorway miles in that was also fun and had a sporty nature.

    What was the dealer like?

OK - Didn't really feel a great deal of trust in them but they did act with really good customer service towards myself. I felt they did very little checking of the car though, i.e. pre-sell checks etc.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Cruises and eats up the miles on the motorway. The low end power in this car makes overtaking on single carriageway roads incredibly easy and eats up the steepest of hills. Steering is keen when needed, brakes are great and the auto-box is smooth and responsive. There is a little lag when you bury the pedal but I suppose this is to be expected in an auto diesel. The elec-trickery keeps you out of trouble and lulls you into the opinion that your driving is better than it is. (Keep that button on!) A great car that effortlessly wafts you through the countryside but is just as keen to growl and roar, leaving the road behind... very quickly!

    What's it like to park?

Really easy with parking sensors front and back. Try and get this option if you can. Without you will just have to do it the old fashioned way, using your skill and judgement.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

The car is great. No complaints at all. But beware parts are very expensive as is labour at Mercedes Dealerships. The service is great and the free Mobilo recovery makes the extra expense worthwhile.

What's most practical about your car?

The on-board computer for monitoring mpg.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The Sport button and rear view mirror used in combination! Also the car reads out text messages to me, great to avoid temptation of having a quick read or stopping during long journeys. Also the on-board computer is great for tracking mpg for work miles.
