In their own words

This is my third CLS (first C257 model) and they have definitely gone for a sportier ride. The seats are not quite as comfortable as the prior model.
I did spec the car with optional 20 inch wheels, which was a mistake as the car can feel very jarring over a pothole or poor roads. I have had to replace one alloy just to it cracking when going over a pothole.
The interior is a lovely place to be and much more up to date than the previous model.
Although the drivers footrest is slightly too small to keep your foot totally comfortable on a long drive- due to the 4*4 transmission.
Also in cold conditions at full lock the car can judder at very low speeds (again due to the 4*4), which can be alarming when first experiencing it.
Over 20000 miles I have averaged 37.9mpg. Around town the mileage does drop drastically to about 25mpg. On the motorway at a steady 75-80mph I will average around 45-49mpg.
The engine is wonderful and more than powerful enough for any needs. Overtaking is simple and fast.
The engine is incredibly smooth and much better than the previous CLS 220d that I owned.
I have replaced the front tyres due to un even wear, which was unexpected as my prior CLS did 40000 before needing to be changed.
My only disappointment in the styling is that the front end and DRL’s are exactly the same as an A-class, which feels a little lazy. But otherwise the car is beautifully styled, in particular the interior. Although- there was a lack of interior leather options for the UK and compared to my previous CLS.
After 20000 miles the interior remains in perfect condition and looks brand new.
In all, it is a wonderfully capable car, the ride is slightly firmer than my previous CLS- although this will be in part due to the 20 inch wheels.
It is a dream on the motorway and can cover extreme miles without breaking a sweat and on the motorway the Mpg is excellent for a car with an excellent turn of pace.
