Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

This car is undoubtedly expensive against its competitors, particularly when highly specified, but each of us will make our own value judgement. In our case we place high value on comfort and refinement and, increasingly, on the available safety features - from this viewpoint we think it is well worth the investment. We are less concerned with outright performance or handling, and for us the fact that these and other elements of driver engagement are often perceived as less dynamic than with (say) BMW or Jaguar is not an issue - we are finding that the air suspension works well and the car feels stable and predictable under typical road conditions. Much has been reported concerning technology such as Mercedes Me, which looks like being very useful, and the autonomous driving features. Some of these features work better than others, or are more practical than others, but they do at least demonstrate a real commitment to improving safety and convenience in the context of ever busier roads and the trend towards more selfish driver behaviour. We will be particular interested to see how the Car-to-X capability comes into play as the density of vehicles with this feature increases in coming years.

How reliable do you find the car?

This a complex vehicle with the Premium Plus package and a number a additional options. From past experience over 40 years of motoring there is often a trade-off between the level of specification and and reliability achieved but over the first 1.178 miles there have been no issues and performance has been faultless.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

Having done extensive research on this car and a broad range of alternatives prior to the purchasing decision we had a clear expectation of the driver and passenger experience. The car has delivered against this very successfully and still feels exciting to get into every time we set off.
