In their own words

A lovely motor to drive. Speed when you want it, comfortable, roomy, quiet, with a good view of the road and what's over the roadside hedges if you're sight seeing. Very light steering which makes it surprisingly agile for such a big heavy car; not that it feels heavy to drive. German mechanicals are pretty reliable but I think Mercedes should employ Italian designers for the interior. It's not what I would call luxurious; just decent quality. The dashboard is rubbish. A tiny computer screen to display basic information such as outside temperature, which involves fiddling with steering wheel buttons when you should be concentrating on the road ahead. I still have problems with the gear lever being on the right hand side of the steering wheel and one stalk for washers, indicators and lights. Overall I love the car and have since updated to a newer model.

How reliable do you find the car?

A minor?; irritating problem is the cars habit of sometimes going into limp mode when negotiating a bend or a hill at low speeds. Apparently this is a regular problem with the otherwise reliable automatic gearbox. It's a Mercedes; it should not happen!
