    Value

Great value for money. I bought mine for £6300 on a 1998 R plate with low mileage.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

Surprisingly cheap to run, cheap insurance costs, very economical (mines running at about 40mpg). Parts and servicing can be quite expensive, so it's worth shopping around.

    Driving

    5 out of 5 5.0

Great fun to drive, handles really well, even with the roof down. By far the best car I've ever driven.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Only 120bhp on a 1.8i, but the car is light so it goes really well and pulls away really quickly. Great at overtaking.

    Reliability

    Absolutely no problems yet.

My car is 5 years old now, but it's still a real head-turner. Loads of people look when you drive along with the roof down. There's also a big MG following, so expect to get waved to by other MG owners.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Very comfortable drive. Tall people may find their knees hitting the steering wheel because they are low down, but I'm only 5ft 2, so this does not effect me.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Comes with standard alarm and immobiliser, but I would upgrade the alarm because I have been able to get my arm into the car and pull the CD player out without the alarm going off.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

MG dealers charge quite high prices for not very high levels of workmanship and service.
