• Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

You want an Audi TT but can't afford one. Asethetically it's great but there's nothing under the bonnet that resembles a sports car. It is only a 1.6 after all.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everyone really loved it. Pleasing to the eye.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Never: aside from how nice it looked, I wouldn't advise anyone buy an MG. Contrary to advice I received before buying it, parts are not readily available and after an accident the car was written off in circumstance where any other car (where the manufacturers still exist) would have been easily repairable.

What are you likely to buy next?

Mazda MX-5. Better build, better engine, much more reliable with an all-round quality. Though I did love the look of the MG (women eh!)

    August 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

It was the worst car on the forecourt (everything else much more classy) and he wanted rid!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

Very pleasant - aren't they all?

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Not as hard as expected. Good handling when least expect it. But in what should have been a small accident it completely concertinaed.

    What's it like to park?

    Easy

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Within a week a wiper had stopped working and a new linkage was needed. However, the part was very hard to find. Airbag light constantly flashing, even when supposedly fixed.

What's most practical about your car?

Nothing, it was a pure summertime indulgence

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Nice to have a drop-top
