Other Nissan Micra (2003 - 2010) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Probably that I don't conform, which I'd take as a compliment.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They all approve. First-time passengers are consistently surprised by the large amount of head and legroom in the front, and the relatively high seating position compared to other hatchbacks.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, without a doubt. Very reliable and you get a lot of specification for the money.

What are you likely to buy next?

I would consider Nissan's replacement for the Micra before looking at any other make.

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    Yes

    What price did you pay?

    £0

When did you buy the car?

    February 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes: got a good part-exchange on my old car and a discount on this model.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I had a previous generation Micra and it never let me down.

    What was the dealer like?

Very professional when I was there, but a little lax with communication in between times.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Fun, fast and frugal: a great little car.

    What's it like to park?

An absolute doddle. Despite the short body overhangs, the slightly raised headlamp profiles help you judge distance at the front and this model comes with reversing sensors as standard. It also has a very tight turning circle.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Yes. A minor leak developed during very wet and windy conditions: a small amount of water entered the headlining through the aerial base and dripped into the cabin through the Bluetooth microphone. However, the dealer booked it in immediately for fixing and a full wiring check.

What's most practical about your car?

Small, economical, fast acceleration when needed and very spacious inside. You get a lot of headroom and the chunky width gives the feel of a much bigger car.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Intelligent Key. I can lock/unlock the car and start the engine without having to touch the keyfob and I wonder how I ever did without it.
