  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

I've gone for style over substance.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

It looks nice ... but not impressed.

    No

What are you likely to buy next?

    Not sure.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £7,995

When did you buy the car?

    July 2008

Did you get a good deal and why?

Paid less than I thought I would.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

Arnold Clark, but bought from a salesperson who normally dealt with fleet sales - he was called in on the day because of a "special promotion". He didn't seem that confident and therefore wasn't too pushy.

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very poor ride, doesn't handle potholes or any sort of rough surface. Occasionally jittery on even the smoothest of roads. Corners well though, keeps a straight line and sufficient power in most situations (although pulling away in second gear is at a snail's pace).

    What's it like to park?

A nightmare. Almost impossible to judge angles and distances (and I say this as the former owner of a Citroen XM which was a doddle to park). Steering wheel lock is awful.

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Quite a few niggling (and unexpectedly expensive) problems. Sensors not working (e.g. warnings appearing about brake malfunction when mechanic certain that there is no problem); radio display unreadable; remote key fob works intermittenly requiring re-programming; lots of bulbs failing (mostly exterior).

What's most practical about your car?

It gets you from A to B, reasonable comfort.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    None really.
