  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

    Banker w*nker?

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Very popular, especially with the father in law.

Would you buy this car again and why?

100% yes! Absolutely love it. Even though they are a fairly common sight, it still feels like a very special car, even if that just is in my mind (then thats all that matters).

What are you likely to buy next?

I would love to have a 991 turbo or turbo S. Or try something different BMW M4.

Did you buy this car new?

    £23,000

When did you buy the car?

    April 2014

Did you get a good deal and why?

Part exchanged my 08 Cayman the rest was just change. I felt it was a good deal.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Loves Porsche, had a Cayman before. Always wanted a 997.

    What was the dealer like?

Very helpful, honest (a rarity I think), the few problems I had with the car were fixed straight away without question for free.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very good, easy drive. The gear box on the manual is a pile of rubbish though, when the engine is cold the grinding and crunching and trying to find first is horrible. Once it is warmed up it is great. I drive mine most days, and even when I am careful with it, the petrol gauge seems to just plummet, it is a very thirsty car.

    What's it like to park?

I am a terrible parallel parker to begin with I struggle in my girlfriends clio, having said that even I can park the car with relative ease. A more competent parker would have no problem. (rear parking sensors are a must).

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Leaking water coolant, rattle in exhaust. both fixed by dealer no problem.

What's most practical about your car?

The space allows it to be very practical, I have managed to squeeze full sized friends into the back seats on long drives, although squeezing would be the operative word.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The sports exhaust button, its nice to not have to listen to the engine roar all the time, but when I do want the car to go pressing the little button and the engine comes alive. (Also just pressing the button to do that makes me feel like batman).
