Paid too much for mine 12 months ago, now stand to lose half what I paid!

    Costs

So far I have had to have the cambelt done, had the keys re-programmed twice to the car alarm, needed to touch up the bodywork a tad, always wanting more power out of it, and it drinks oil & petrol like its going out of fashion.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Comfortable seats, not lowered so it's fairly comfy even on long drives. The dashboard could be set out a bit better though, have to lean forward to reach the stereo!

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

When you put your foot down and really let rip, this little Clio suddenly turns into a beast, very quick and a lot of fun if you respect what you have. People rarely realise what they are up against if they are not up on their Clios!

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

its French! It can be very reliable if you treat it properly and look after it, but expect hefty bills if engine work needs doing at a garage as there isn't much room for human hands under the bonnet!

In my opinion, still one of the best looking hot hatches ever made. They sound awesome too if they have an induction kit fitted. The bonnet vent and flaired wheel arches really give it a presence!

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very comfortable seats, even on a long journey. the driving position seems a little odd though!

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Standard alarm and immobiliser at the moment, but after being stuck in the middle of nowhere for nearly 7 hours due to the immobilizer messing up will be fitting a new one.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

I get my cars serviced at a mates garage as I can trust him and he doesn't rip me off, very reputable local firm, always sorts things out for me.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

Very quick and grunty engine, is very tetchy if you abuse it regularly without looking after it.

    Other

Great car if looked after, loads of enthusiasts around to lend a hand and is only outshined by it's bigger brother, the Williams, for its age. One of the most fun cars I've ever owned, so much so I've had two!
