Renault Laguna Estate 1995-
  • Economy

    Costs

    4 out of 5 4.0

Surprisingly good fuel consumption of 34mpg on a run. Original parts are expensive but not much has gone wrong yet.

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very good long distance cruiser. Soft suspension but grips and handles well considering its size.

    Performance

    2 out of 5 2.0

8-valve engine is very underpowered. Auto box just makes matters worse. Would never tow anything, struggles on some hills !

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    4 out of 5 4.0

Always starts first time. Has never let me down totally. Engine injection sensor required for MOT, £100 fitted.

Fine as a family car. Not very sporty, but totally practical.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Easily the most comfortable car I have ever owned. Regularly drive to France fully laden with kids and luggage; driven the whole way with no overnight stops and get out feeling fine.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Doesn't attract any unwanted attention. Never been broken into. Remote central locking has an excellent range.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    Sensor (fuel injection) replaced.

    Other

Tailgate interior light failed - it's not the bulb and I would love to know where the switch is as I've looked everywhere. Front suspension has started to rattle when cold?
