  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

Well - it's not a standard hatchback which everyone else has for a first car. So maybe it says that i want to stand out from the crowd? I did think it might be a bit of a hairdresser's car but most of the drivers are men and they look good in black, grey, silver, blue. Mine's a pearlescent Silver-Blue which is good (but very expensive to get scratches repaired!!)

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Everyone likes it

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would, but i wouldn't really buy the same car twice.

What are you likely to buy next?

New shape Civic, Hyundai coupe, Alfa Romeo MiTO maybe...

  • Buying experience

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £1,495

When did you buy the car?

    June 2009

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes - Very good condition asthetically and mechanically, cambelt kit thrown in (A must on these renaults!), Full MOT and tax.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

First car - Sporty looking, relatively cheap to insure, quick.

    What was the dealer like?

Very friendly and upfront. (Venture Auto's, Nr Northampton)

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very nippy, good handling, sounds nice too - at 3500 rpm and over the acceleration is very good. Good ride which is comfy yet sporty. Rev's fairly high on the motorway (around 3200) but most small cars do this.

    What's it like to park?

Not great! The shape of the car means visibility around the sides is limited and the small rear window isn't great but as long as you watch where the spoiler is then you know where the back of the car is.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Not yet! Gearboxes on these are a bit funny - gearstick tends to wobble around a bit but most renaults do the same - nothing to worry about!

What's most practical about your car?

Errr ... well being a coupe it's not THAT practical as it has a saloon-like boot which is a decent size but has a very small opening. Also very comfortable in the front yet still very supportive. Rear not massive but as long as the front seat people aren't that tall it's manageable (Had someone near 6 foot in the back before now!)

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Kit is very good on these - Heated electric mirrors, aircon, electric front and back windows, speed adjustant wipers and stereo, cd player, steering wheel controls for the stereo, electric sunroof etc Can't pick a favourite!!
