Value
Excellent value with loads of equipment as standard that you pay extra for on a Vauxhall or Ford; like ABS, 4 airbags, air con+sunroof and multi-play CD changer.
Costs
Cheap to insure and run, with excellent fuel economy - up to 110 miles from £10 of fuel on urban runs. Have not had this car serviced yet, but previous Megane 1.4e RT was only £150 for major service.

Good ride and handling, much improved over old model.
Performance
New 95bhp 1.4 16v is excellent - much improved over the old 8v energy engine and copes better on motorways and when fully loaded. Has more power than some 1.6 from other manufactures.

More stylish than an Astra or Almera.
Comfort
Great car over long distances, with comfortable seats and air con is excellent and does not effect fuel consumption too much.

Poor running when cold - ignition coils needed replacing - a known problem with the 1.4 16v engine.

Faulty windscreen washer pump, replaced under warranty no problem.
