Value
Bought from a friend with a brand new MOT, and just after a major service which included a new cambelt. I got it for a great price, and being only group 5 insurance, i managed to get fully comp insurance for less than £1000 (being only 21)
Costs
Group 5 insurance, and half a tank of petrol (£20's worth) is good for 200 miles

Driving
Effortless to drive, thanks to power steering and pedals that only need a soft touch to make the car do what you want.
Performance
Needs a bit of cajoleing to get it to shift and the gears need to be carefully planned in such times where out-and-out acceleration is a must... peak torque is quite high in the revs, unlike VWs 1600 unit.

Not had a problem here and it seems solid and well cared for

I thought it was ugly when it was released back in '96, but the quirky looks have grown on me, and i love it now.
Comfort
Seats offer comfort and support, but seeing as i'm a lightweight, that's not really an issue. The top of the instrument binnacle obscures the warning lights.

Amusing immobiliser that activates after 30 secs, so you've gotta get in and get going pretty quick.
