  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

I value exclusivity without paying through the nose for it.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    They're puzzled!

Would you buy this car again and why?

No, because I have experienced what it has to offer and there is no need for another bite.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Something with AWD.

  • Buying experience

    3 out of 5 3.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £2,500

When did you buy the car?

    January 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

Try getting an equivalent M3 -- a slouch in comparison to the Viggen -- for under three grand. A good deal? Unquestionably.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

As per all previous reports, torque steer -- even with a brace -- is gargantuan and around town the heavy clutch can get tiresome, but on big treks it is matchless: supremely comfortable and reasonably economical if you rein in your speed-freak instincts.

    What's it like to park?

Thanks to the shallow rear window, massive C pillars and spoiler, visibility isn't best but any decent driver can park a Viggen (or any other 9-3 coupe come to think of it).

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Of course -- at 132k when I bought it I knew it was leggy and would need odds and sods carried out. The SID (display) is knackered, the wheels are tattier than Wilfred Brambell and it has a ding or two but otherwise it's been fine due to previous owners not skimping on maintenance. Full service history is a must.

What's most practical about your car?

It's extremely secure and the boot is cavernous.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Heated front seats. Awesome after a climb or a day out in the raw.
