Other Saab 9-3 (2002 - 2011) models:

  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

I've no idea and don't care really - but seems to turn heads quite often, and neighbours do ask questions about it!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

    Nice!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes - can't wait to see what Spyker will do with the next 9-3...needs improvement on CO2 and fuel consumption for sure! Hence the average rating on "living with it"...compared to BMW/Audi it's not the cheapest car to run based on tax/fuel - service is not so bad, but depends on your driving style.

What are you likely to buy next?

9-3 saloon...does the job for me!

  • Buying experience

    5 out of 5 5.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £15,000

When did you buy the car?

    March 2010

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, Hirsch Upgrade for £500, 1 yrs tax included and got a fair price on my old Saab as PX, and Saab warranty is very good.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

£15K for a 1.5yrs old Fast/Comfortable/Safe saloon with lots of goodies as standard, and previously owned a Saab 2003 9-3 saloon aero manual, so why not - gambling that Spyker will do good things with Saab.

    What was the dealer like?

First time I bought from Western Saab, but had previously serviced my old Saab with them (Western Saab Glasgow), best Customer Service I've experienced so far and pretty fair & honest I find, I currently own an Audi and have owned other makes, so have experienced others!

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Fast, Comfortable & Safe! After the Hirsch Upgrade - the mid range power is even better, therefore overtaking in everyday life is fast & safe...actually made it a little more economical combining with Shell V-Power, since I went for the semi-auto gearbox was expecting around the 29mpg mark but getting between 33-34mpg combined, unless you drive it hard, more power = more fuel! The manual is a lot better for fuel economy, used to avg 34-36mpg combined and easily got 46mpg on motorways sticking to 70-75mph on my old 2003 aero saloon...but it all depends on how you drive really.

    What's it like to park?

Easy enough - rear sensors as standard on aeros.

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

No, but like all things, look after it and it will look after you! Make sure it's not been driven hard and has been looked after, full service is a must!

What's most practical about your car?

    Good Cabin Space & Boot!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

The "Sport" - sharpens the throttle and gear changes on a semi-auto, works nicely with the Hirsch Upgrade!
