  • Economy

    Value

    4 out of 5 4.0

Got a reasonable deal on a nearly new car.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Fuel economy is apalling. Less than 20 mpg in town driving.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Taught and enjoyable to drive, but the mix of the auto box and the turbo make for a short time lag between pressing the accelerator and the delivery of power.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

Motorway acceleration is quick and faultless

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    2 out of 5 2.0

Has been returned a few times under warranty to fix minor rattles. The airbag warning light came on without warning and there was also a recall to update the software on the gearbox!

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Quite pretty in a bourgeois kind of way.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Hugely comfortable seats. BMW can't compare.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

    Excellent security spec.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

The car has been back to the dealers for minor problems, more often than I would have liked. Service has been curteous, but they never offer a replacement car and the quality of repair is sometimes poor.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Problems

    Engine

    Other

Various rattles, including a disturbing mechanical one from below the car on a long journey. The dealer was unable to find anything wrong and it cleared up.
