Excellent deal from a main dealer.
Costs
I use an independant VW specialist garage - cheaper than a main dealer.

Driving
Nice to drive, but wet weather grip awful, even with good quality tyres.
Performance
Plenty of torque from the 1.6 engine, but not exiting!

Reliability
A few problems when the car was under warranty. Wheel bearings and electric window switches failed.
Comfort
Good in the front, cramped in the back.

Dealer customer service terrible. Shoddy warranty repairs, shoddy servicing (did not bother changing service parts when due etc).

Rear wheel bearing left the factory dry (no grease). Both failed in uder 10k miles.
