SEAT Toledo 1991-
  • Economy

    Value

    3 out of 5 3.0

    Just average.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

Depreciation disappointing, servicing and repair costs too high if main dealer used.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

    Safe and predictable.

    Performance

    3 out of 5 3.0

Short geared at slower speeds, but excellent on motorway.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

Overshadowed by exhaust and fuel problems, but otherwise very reasonable.

    Image

    2 out of 5 2.0

Poor, except amongst those in the know.

    Comfort

    3 out of 5 3.0

Not bad, but seats could be more supportive. Ride poor over bumps and potholes in urban areas. Better at speed.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    2 out of 5 2.0

Not up to modern standards. Stolen after five years.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

Seat were not interested in problems early on with fuels leaks (caused by blocked injectors), or exhaust fitting problems. Dealer was excellent and very helpful.

  • Problems and Ownership

    Engine

    Faultless.

    Other

Three exhausts in five years and design fault too close to body means new bushes have to be frequently fitted to avid knocking or exhaust centres causing major headaches trying to fit them properly.
