  • Economy

    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

Still an unknown quantity, hence a bit of a bargain.

    Costs

    3 out of 5 3.0

£200 big service, £100 small service. Average 40mpg. German and Swedish for everything else. Luxury car for Mondeo money.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Slight understeer but otherwise excellent, especially on motorways. Very relaxing drive. Feels more stable the faster you drive it. Better ride than Golf/Bora.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Adequate from 1.8. Not too free-revving hence feels like a 1.6 (heavy car). Revs at 3200rpm at 80mph hence good pickup at motorway speeds (bit noisy though).

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

20,000 miles in 6 months so far. Only had the usual MAF sensor problem (£200 new £100 exchange). Done under SUPERB Seat Approved Used warranty which is unlimited mileage, by the way. Lots of support (and chit chat... addictive though it is) on Forums.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

VW/Audi Build with Spanish Flair (defected Alfa designer). Seat image only gets better and better. My model not as 'modern' as latest cars though - but that's OK with me.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Exellent seats, climate, cruise, super stereo, armrest, footrest. Lots of simple mods available to make it more comfy and special.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Immobiliser and alarm. Thieves walk past and onto the Golfs.

    Service

    3 out of 5 3.0

Seat main dealer service quite poor. Warranty company (Regency) is MUCH better - hence score 3 instead of 2.

  • Problems and Ownership
