Economy
Value
Excellent value for money with good level of equipment, climate control, all electric windows ,abs,asc. The interior is well made, but dull and quality of the carpets are poor.
Costs
No costs accept for routine maintenance. After 45,000 miles even the brake pads are original and are fit for another 10,000 miles.

On the road
Driving
I live in Italy so the car does huge distances across Europe. The four speed auto should be upgraded to 5 as the engine has sufficient power and it would cruise at high speed on the continent better.
Performance
Excellent pulling power throughout the rev range. The cars handling and ride quality was much improved after fitting bigger 205mm Pirelli P7 tyres.

Living with it

Excellent nothing has gone wrong to date.

Having a Skoda is at least a talking point and frankly the 1.8 turbo petrol engine with 150bhp transforms the car into a vehicle which has a quality fee which does not exist in the other 1.8 cars.
Comfort
The front seats could be more supportive at the sides, but we never have back ache even after 14 hours in the car.
