Want to know everything there is to know about this car?

In their own words

I've always liked the non obvious choice. The Nissan Primera GT being another "taxi" I've owned. I love my VRS. It has its faults but don't we all? I love it's huge boot as I have two kids and a missus so we always have to take a ton of "stuff" when we go anywhere. I love it's power. Just enough to not be a waste or a license worrier. I love that it's not a golf gti and I've had a few of those in the past but then so has everyone else. I love that it's not got rusty wheel arches like that otherwise lovely 325i down the road. I don't love the white bits inside. I don't want it to be black as a coal mine but it's a family car Skoda, think it through! My car has done a relatively low 101k miles and still feels solid. I have no plans to sell it but still keep my eye out for lower mileage versions for sale at the right price just in case. I can't say I've ever said that about any other model apart form maybe the mk2 golf gti 16v I owned. I do have a hankering for one of those Leon Cupras tho......

How reliable do you find the car?

Sensors. Get used to that word if you buy any 1.8t engined vag group car. Nothing expensive or terminal, just a bit annoying. Having said that, I fixed all mine in the first year of ownership and have had few issues since. None of the issues have ever left me stranded and you get used to the warning lights! Other stuff that are common faults tend to be electrical too but are mostly easily fixed. Door lock mechanisms and rear wiper motors will fail at some point. It's not a Honda but it's not a fiat either.

Does the car do everything you expected it to do?

The biggest suprise was the mpg. By the standards of the time this is a pretty fast car but over the last 2000 miles I've averaged 37 mpg. Admittedly I don't do a great deal of city centre driving but I don't spend much time on the motorway either. At a steady 70ish , 40mpg is the norm. All in all pretty good for a 14 year old family hot hatch.
