In their own words

The Octavia MK4 is a wonderful car but early versions are flawed due to software issues / reliability (see other owner reviews). I purchased my vRS from a Skoda franchised dealer during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, right when folk weren't purchasing cars. I got it for an incredible price and was initially as pleased as punch! The software issues started pretty much immediate: SOS popping and subsequent dashboard warnings, infotainment system trying to boot up all day long, over zealous emergency braking and the matrix LED headlights dazzling oncoming drivers. I decided that I'd live with these, keeping a careful eye on the Briskoda forum to see when new software updates were available. Unfortunately in September 2022 the whole convenience module failed and the car was off the road for eight weeks. I made the decision that the vRS needed to go, which was such a shame on many fronts: wonderful handling car with limited-slip diff, powerful 241 bhp TSi engine mated up with the superb 7-speed DSG, interior build quality right up there with VW and nudging Audi plus it looked great in Corrida Red! Fingers crossed Skoda get it all sorted out for the 2024 facelift.
