  • Economy

    Value

    5 out of 5 5.0

Price up the equivalent spec Passat and go on several holidays with the difference.

    Costs

    5 out of 5 5.0

In three years and 50k miles it's needed two cheap (£250) services. Only problem is the depreciation.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Fantastic on motorways, but a soft riding barge around town. Parking sensors a must.

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Engine is superb, gearbox hunts when pushed (so use the tiptronic).

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

So far (touch wood) no problems.

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

You won't look cool, but 99% of people who get in mine say "wow, is this really a Skoda?"

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

Unbeaten in anything like this price range, although that's partially because of the soft suspension setup. Rear was designed as a limo for the Czech PM and it shows. Even 6'6" friends have spare legroom..

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

Usual list of immobilisers, alarm and so on.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

Very helpful, although apparently it can be tricky to get less usual spares as they are a pretty rare car.

  • Problems and Ownership

Ashtray cover won't close. Very annoying!
