In their own words

Having owned two Roadsters previously when they were new, and still having a thing for these quirky cars, I purchased my third a few months ago. These are now an aging and notoriously problematic car so I might live to regret it! It's been on SORN for the winter as I own 2 other vehicles so I've not yet had the opportunity to use it so a little difficult to review this particular vehicle. Generally though I love these cars and I think you have to, to even consider buying one! You definitely need to garage it or keep it covered as they all leak and quite badly which can prove costly with many electrical faults and gremlins. The semi automatic sequential gearbox is an acquired taste and best driven in the manual mode. The gears can become quite jerky if the clutch actuator hasn't been adjusted and maintained. I've owned both the Roadster (notchback) and the Roadster Coupe with the plastic hatchback which were more expensive originally and hold their value better now. I prefer the latter which is slightly more practical but its personal choice. If you're looking for something that's not mainstream and you can maintain the car yourself or find a good specialist, they're great cars. Don't rely on the Mercedes Benz dealers and join a forum or club for tips and advice as parts can be difficult and costly to source. Getting quite a rare sight nowadays and set to become a future classic I'm sure.
