  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

    I can afford petrol

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

A fine car apart from them damn bug eye headlights. Then again, they don't fund the running costs!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Unlikely, unless when the diesel version of the latest model comes comes out it is a cracker

What are you likely to buy next?

Audi A4 Avant, BMW 3 series Touring or a Saab 9-3 Sportwagon. I'm afraid I'm looking at diesel here. It may cost more allover, but at least I go further per gallon

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £6,300

When did you buy the car?

    February 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Not particually. With hindsight, I should have made my excuses and thought about whetheer I really needed to buy another expensive to run motor in the then current financial situation everyone as a whole was heading in

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    had previous model before

    What was the dealer like?

Polite but tenatious. Subarus aren't that popular, so I guess that anyone who walks in and enquires about one you've got you must hang on to. How long before a next buyer would come along?

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very good. Chunky gearshift and clutch can get a bit wearing in urban conditions. These cars are best pounding motorways. You won't find many low mileage ones.

    What's it like to park?

Mondeo sized, so ok. As is the trend these days, no rubbing strips on the flanks and bumpers (optional extras that were rarely taken up) so expect parking and panel damage
