  • Summary

    5 out of 5 5.0

What does this car say about you?

Enthusiast who has more money than sense. This car has a massive road presence and intimidates a lot of drivers. Be wary of small backstreet garages they view you as a walking piggybank.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My family liked it, my mates loved it, my G/F hated it.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes! but only when im a lot richer than i am now or when the price of fuel/insurance/tax drops back down to sensible levels.

What are you likely to buy next?

Already have, Mini Cooper S. Bought it as a cheaper car to drive - to be honest not much cheaper than the Impreza.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £7,500

When did you buy the car?

    October 2007

Did you get a good deal and why?

Yes, it was a low mileage example for reasonable price and they gave me good Part ex.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Where to start..... The turbo, the big bonnet scoop, the huge road presence - people buy an impreza because it is just that!

    What was the dealer like?

Superb! they got me financed, part ex'd, all sorted in 5 days from test driving. Would have been sooner but it was down to my time. Redline racing (formerly Otley - but now in H'gate).

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Fantastic! goes like the clappers, stops on a five pence piece and corners faster than most cars 10x its value. The exhaust note is great if you get the right exhaust system. Be careful some sound like a bag of sh*te.

    What's it like to park?

Easy-ish, the clutch is nice and light and the steering is weighted without being too heavy. Opt for big spoiler and it will obscure the view out the back, also watch the alloys on kerbs and the bodykit.

  • Living with it

    5 out of 5 5.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

NO! its a Subaru its like the Duracell bunny - keeps on going! Oh ok, the drop links became worn - cost me all of £85 to replace.

What's most practical about your car?

The boot is huge! The 4 doors are a godsend when picking people up. Only downside is you cant lower back seats (saloon) so are limited with longer objects.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    The turbo whistle is addictive!
