Subaru Outback (2015 - 2021) 2.5i SE Premium Lineartronic auto 5d Owner Review

A very well put together car, comfortable car, that’s built like a tank. Easily achieved 44mpg on the motorway. Eyesight system is really good. Far too many chimes going off though, reminds me of 80’s Japanese cars. Dated interior but everything works fine. Biggest let down is the horrendous CVT gearbox. It totally spoils the driving experience making the car feel very ponderous and noisy. I find it hard to believe in this day and age Subaru continues to use this gearbox. Driving the car up hills becomes embarrassing due to the constant revving noise caused by the horrible CVT. kept it 7 months, 10k miles, totality reliable but couldn’t stand the gearbox any longer.
