In their own words

First of all I’d like to say I’m not new to Toyota hybrid technology, but was pleasantly surprised by the Auris, I have previously owned the Yaris hybrid and that is a great car apart from the gearbox. Ruins the car in my opinion. Back to the Auris, it is pleasant to drive, point and go and let the electric gubbins do the swap between petrol and electric seamlessly. The looks are subjective but I think it looks quite attractive in darker colours mine is dark blue with blacked out rear windows. Also it has every bell and whistle you would ever want I’m really surprised what you get for your money when buying used. The few negatives are: The fuel economy isn’t what I’d expect but I live in a part of Yorkshire where it is quite hilly and the hybrid prefers the flat and the city to get the most out of it. The gear lever is daft small and flicks back to position when moved, it’s a pain and annoying but you do get used to it. And the rubber banding of the gearbox is by far the worst attribute, but put it in power mode and all is forgotten. Plenty of poke for round town and a quick overtake.
