In their own words

My 1st car was a mini followed by a VW beetle. I have never bought a turbo charged petrol as part of the joy of driving is using all the rev range skilfully and looking well ahead to keep the car flowing. I normally drive locally for short distances. However my daughters are 68 and 224 miles away by motorway. Using all the revs gets me up to speed and the car will sit at motorway speeds all day. Drivers nowadays are lazy and accelerate in too high a gear because they are used to turbos and diesels. I therefore find driving my Aygo X allows me to drive as I used to in my mini and beetle, with about 29 bhp at my disposal, at much safer speeds. This car is sufficient for my wife and I and takes all our luggage even for a weeks stay. Plus 56 mpg is not to be sneezed at or low insurance rates. The attitude of testers moaning about 71bhp makes me laugh as does enjoying driving my little city car. By the way I am now 75 and have driven a full power Merc AMG on a track.
