    Costs

Insurance is cheap and the car is economical.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

Excellent steering and handling. Steering column too far away from driver and not enough leg room for me (but i'm 6'2"" and my wife drives it)

    Performance

    4 out of 5 4.0

Handles well and the steering is excellent. The 1.6 engine is lively and pulls well, even when fully loaded. Top end speed is ok but, hey, it's not a sports car

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    5 out of 5 5.0

No major problems. Only faults in two years plus were seat adjuster handle coming off and heater control bulb failing. Both fixed under warranty

    Image

    4 out of 5 4.0

Image ok. Not as good as Golf, but it's cheaper and Toyotas are much more reliable

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

Could do with more leg-room for driver and the steering column should be adjustable for reach. It holds 4 adults comfortably and does a good job on long drives, despite the short wheelbase.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    4 out of 5 4.0

It isn't the type of car that gets stolen by joy-riders, but it could do with an alarm as well as the immobiliser.

    Service

    4 out of 5 4.0

We haven't had any major problems so i can't comment, but i rate Toyota highly from previous cars I have owned. The dealers might be expensive, but they generally offer good service.
