What does this car say about you?

In all honesty it probably makes me look like someone going through their midlife crisis, however this isn't necessarily a bad thing, even with the loud exhaust the police never seem to pay any attention to it which is good.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My friends and family all really like the car. My friends especially, a number of them used to own MR2s so know what good cars they are.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes I would buy this car again, however I would go into it with my eyes a bit more open, I was expecting it to cost a lot to run however I wasn't fully prepared for this.

What are you likely to buy next?

Hopefully a TVR Chimaera, however I'm quite tempted by the New Fiesta ST as a practical run around.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £850

When did you buy the car?

    January 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

In my opinion yes I did get a good deal. £850 for such a fun car is a steal.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Part of the reason for my purchase of my MR2 was fun, I also wanted a fun but practical first car.

    What was the dealer like?

The seller was your typical independent ebay seller.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Although it isn't built for motorway cruising it isn't actually unbearable. The exhaust I've got fitted means that it is rather loud however put in earphones and you can't really tell. Comfort wise it isn't like modern 'sporty' cars with stupidly hard suspension. The ride is comfortable, the seats are supportive yet comfortable. It is also quite quick on the road.

    What's it like to park?

Thanks to the small size it isn't too difficult to park. However my car isn't fitted with Power Steering meaning that parallel parking is... difficult.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

Part of my reason for buying the car was for use on track days. This means that a lot of stress is put on the car. The only failure I've had was due to me getting carried away. I managed to burst the front brake caliper seals and one of the rear calipers was seized.

What's most practical about your car?

The fact that I can get a set of wheels in the car without removing the passenger seat (bearing in mind this is a two seater coupe).

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    The accelerator pedal.
