Toyota/Lexus have serious security issues including the RAV4. I have had my car stolen twice even with a steering wheel lock. Thieves open the car with Can bus attack and the car is gone in under 60 seconds.
Insurance premiums have skyrocketed and even Toyota Insurance won’t insure their own cars without an immobiliser fitted.
What is worse is that Toyota knew about the issue from 2017-2019 so have knowingly sold cars of unsatisfactory quality for more than 3 years knowing they are so easily stolen.
Toyota are washing their hands of the issue and pointing customers to speak with their insurers. For them, a car stolen is another car bought- and pushing the costs onto customers and insurers.
Anyone considering buying Toyota, don’t do it!
