  • Summary

What does this car say about you?

Pratical but care about Image. I say this because, the car is very practical and is an all round good car. I have used it in all conditions and it performs well at every task but on top of this, it is an SRI model which looks sporty.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think it's a good practical car.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would and I would buy the 1.8 SRI however, given the age of these vehicles now I will struggle to find one with all the extras I would expect.

What are you likely to buy next?

I'm looking to buy a 1.8VVTI Vectra with the Exterior Pack 2. The engine is the same as the one used in the Astra only newer and with better MPG, it also is a 5dr Door which I need as I am now a father and need the extra room.

Was a good deal, it was a clearence Part-Ex. priced to sell.

I have owned this car previously and was in a rush to buy a new car. Previous Versions I owned were the 1.4 ls and 1.6 Sxi 3dr.

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

Great! it's quick deliverys great MPG given the performance and I have to say that I never struggle to pick up speed throughout the gears. It's comfortable and quiet, feels solid and has a good driving position. I'm sure this varies depending on the overall condition of the car you buy but this one has 114,000 miles on the clock and is still going strong and I have to say still feels great.

    What's it like to park?

Easy enough, great visibility even with the spoiler on the boot. Obviously with the 3dr version you have to be aware that the doors are slightly larger so you need to get a good position to be able to get out without having to squeeze in!

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

A fair amount of wear and tear. Had the catalytic converter replaced along with the air flow mass metre.

What's most practical about your car?

Massive Boot, Comfortable Seats. I've seen the alternatives such as the Focus, Golf and others which do not compare in the slightest, even on the 3dr verison.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Cruise Control, Steering Wheel Controls.
