  • Driving it

    What's it like to drive?

Better than I expected. I've driven a few of them, including the 1.2 and 1.4 twin port and I am surprised by how well the little 1.0 litre compares. I thought it would be really slow and gutless, but the opposite is true. Not only is the engine really flexible, allowing you to stay in 5th gear all the way down to below 1,000 revs and still pulling smoothly away. It goes like a train both on the flat and up-hill. The ride comfort is good, but because it's got a short wheelbase you can sometimes get a bouncy sensation occuring, but only on extremely poor road surfaces. Cornering is safe rather than exciting, in no small part due to it's skinny tyres. But then again they can be bought for just £10 on Ebay. The Breaks are pin sharp and it's stop on a sixpence.

    What's it like to park?

An absolute doddle. Be wary of the very long doors though. Because if like me your a bit of a bloater then be sure to leave plenty of room on the drivers side when attending your local supermarket or you'll find yourself struggling to get out of the car.
