Other Vauxhall Vectra (1995 - 2002) models:

  • Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

It's a vectra, what do you think!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They like it, as it does look good when it is clean.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. The car is great to drive, and a good family saloon, but I am going to be commuting nearlly 500 miles a week so it's time for a diesel. Also the vectra depreciates faster than a cheap hooker dropping her knickers!!!

What are you likely to buy next?

Probably a BMW 320 or 330. More likely to get the 320 haven't quite decided yett.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £6,500

When did you buy the car?

    March 2004

Did you get a good deal and why?

Great deal, I even got £200 trade in on an old cavie whos electrics worked on ESP!!!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Just fancied a vectra, and of course it is black with 18" Alloy wheels!

    What was the dealer like?

Helpful, well he was bound to be I wanted to buy the car so he fell over himself to be nice. Car salesmen are really slimey buggers after all!

  • Driving it

    4 out of 5 4.0

    What's it like to drive?

With it slightly lowered, and the 18" low profiles, keep the revs up it goes quite well. However you will pay for it at the pumps! Drive it normally and it will happily return 30 to 35mpg so OK all in all.

    What's it like to park?

OK, could do with rear parking sensors though.

  • Living with it

    4 out of 5 4.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Sticky drivers window. Seems to be a recurring fault with Vauxhalls. I have had an Astra Coupe, Cavalier GSI and now this Vectra that does it. Pain in the arse really. Air Con pipe bust expensive to fix! Oh yes, tensioner on the timing chain broke... NEW ENGINE time! OOOWWW

What's most practical about your car?

I can get the whole family in it!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

None really, it has what I'd call an acceptable accessory package. Nothing to set the world alight, but OK.
