  • Summary

    3 out of 5 3.0

What does this car say about you?

    Nothing much.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Most people thought it was a smart looking car, but also a thought it a typical "rep mobile"

Would you buy this car again and why?

Although it has lost quite a lot of value in the 9 months before I bought it, it has lost a lot more since. £12,500 deprecitation in under 3 years is bad.

What are you likely to buy next?

Bought a Focus ST170, wanted something a size smaller but just as nippy, no longer need the frugality of diesel.

  • Buying experience

    2 out of 5 2.0

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchise

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £13,000

When did you buy the car?

    October 2005

Did you get a good deal and why?

Got an OK deal, nothing special, sales man touch arrogant, assumed I did not know how finance etc. would work, was not keen on sorting pre delivery issues.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted a high power diesel in this size of car

    What was the dealer like?

The other branch of the dealer is much better, friendlier staff

  • Driving it

    3 out of 5 3.0

    What's it like to drive?

I have the CDTI 150 (look for the red TI on the badge) and it was pretty quick, especially when overtaking in on A and B roads, surprised quite a few "faster" cars with it. If you do long journeys and cruise steadily the economy is good (about 50ish mpg) round town or when having fun struggles to better 40mpg.

    What's it like to park?

Visibility is good and so is the turning circle, but won't fit in some smaller spaces without a bit of shunting about.

  • Living with it

    3 out of 5 3.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Engine managment failed and forced car into "limp home mode", took main dealer 3 weeks to find and fix fault (was a £10 sensor in the end, covered by warranty) Dealer reluctant to provide courtesy car.

What's most practical about your car?

Boot is huge, got a small wardrode in there once.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

No faves, just some that are daft or frustrating, when adjusting drivers mirror, the passenger moves at the same time. Boot lock is electronic, and self locks after a short time, leave your key in there with the doors locked, and you may be looking to call for help.
